The Art & Making of The Dark Knight Trilogy
Jessica’s mom works at the Chicago Ridge Library & told me about this book that she wasn’t aloud people to see until the 20th. So I asked her if she could bring it home for me to see & she did. I’m not sure why they weren’t aloud to put it out though because it revealed no spoilers of any kind.
I haven’t read it all because it’s gigantic, but what I have read has been very fun to read & very informative. The pages in the pictures were some of my favorites from the book. If you are a fan of the trilogy I highly recommend buying this book. If you aren’t a reader then buy it for the pictures alone, there were a ton of pictures that i’ve never even seen on the internet. The introduction was written by Michael Cain & was very pleasant. It’s a spectacular book. Check it out as soon as you can.
The following is one of my favorite passages from the book.
Having built up so much muscle, Hardy felt exceedingly confident about his first screen test with Christian Bale. ”I remember seeing Christian in the makeup chair, and he looked reedy.” Hardy said. “I thought to myself: ‘Oh, I can handle him. That’s not a problem.’ So I got changed into my Bane costume and went out and started flexing my muscles—and then Batman turned up. Suddenly, my arms felt really small, and I felt like I was aout 3 feet tall. He just didn’t look like Christian Bale anymore, and he was looking at me like, ‘Oh yeah, I’m Batman.’ And I was like: ‘Yes, you are. I underestimated you.’ “

Man of Steel | Teaser Trailer
I’m not a big Superman fan as far as the comics go, but overall I’ve liked the films. Superman Returns has a bad rep for some reason, but I love the shit out of it.
With that being said I’m pretty darn excited for this reboot. Zack Snyder has made some great films (Dawn of the Dead & The Watchmen), so I’m very excited to see how he portrays Superman. With Christopher Nolan in the writers credit I don’t have an ounce of doubt about this movie being anywhere close to bad.
Sidenote: To all the fucks who say “Superman looks dumb. We didn’t even see anything in the trailer.” It’s a teaser trailer, it’s made to tease you & it did exactly that. I think it looks fantastic. The shots they chose & the voiceover used were very effective. When The Dark Knight Rises teaser trailer came out a year ago we had voiceover & footage from Begins. It really told us nothing about what was going to happen in the film. Just be cool people.
