It was very anticlimactic… we all got there at 6am and were expecting some sore of line. But there was only a handful of people. I talked to a few of them and we really bonded. Then we all worked a little bit until it was time to sell the tickets. When that was all done I bought my tickets on my break and it was basically another work day. The only thing that was different was that I got to wear a Superman shirt.
Man of Steel Walmart Tickets | we’re getting ready for the big release on Saturday.
So David & I had the same schedule today, but I was in electronics. So we got to take lunch together.
We went to Taco Bell (David drove) & had a delicious lunch.
So it’s time to leave. We get in the car, roll the windows down, and David’s car doesn’t start. I feel panic in my head for a moment until David says it happened yesterday & it started after a minute. However it never started.
David & I had to walk back to work. He was super hot because he was dressed up for wireless and I was alright. But it was a pretty far walk. Probably two miles (which isn’t really far).
We went over our lunch time by about 35 minutes, but we didn’t get in trouble. We were super exhausted though & didn’t want to work the rest of the day.
Some pictures I took at work.
I thought it was ridiculous that there were 4 different copies of Safe Haven.
Then I’ve never heard of “The Oranges” and thought the cast looked great, so I’m wondering of anyone on Tumblr has seen it.
Then I found all these bluray/tin movies. I want to buy a ton of them. Batman & Batman returns because I don’t own them on BR yet, Shawshank & The Departed because they are on my list of movies to get for when I move out.
Then the landscape is from when I walked out of work.
A Easter Egg Hunt video I did for the Village Hall. Didn’t turn out too bad.
A couple days ago I was informed that I was being put onto “Man of Steel Presale Ticket duty.” I was so excited. However when I asked for more details my managers didn’t have answers yet. Well today we got those answers.
Walmart is the ONLY place where people can get pre-screening tickets for Man of Steel. On May 18th I believe all Walmart’s are gonna be selling these tickets for whatever theater is closest to them. There is a limit of 4 per customer, the tickets will be sold for 3D & 2D, and I don’t believe there are any IMAX tickets.
I’m super excited because I’m anticipating there to be a long line of fellow nerds that I can hold awesome conversations with. I also get to wear a Superman cape & work with some of my favorite co-workers for the entire day (Peter, Shara, & Alyssa).
I made a new blog for David & I to post our wireless adventures on. It’s not much to look at now, but I have big plans for it.
Border control is slipping again | My buddy David thought it would be funny, the funniest part was watching him trying to get into the box.
Worked in electronics today. It wasn’t too bad. I was with my managers Peter & Shara pretty much all day. I put up a bunch of HUGE TV’s with them. I also helped a ton of customers with questions. I gave lunches and ran all over the store helping with numerous things.
My last 2 hours I was pretty much alone. So I took that time to organize & clean the electronics counters, cabinets, & drawers. I found contact paper that was already store used, so I used it in the drawers. I also moved some binder out of plain sight & put the cleaning materials there. The drawers still look kind of messy, but we use that stuff throughout the entire day and it will never be perfect.
But I’m really happy with what I did today.
Took this on the drive home today. I thought it looked pretty.
I walked past this tree today & thought it just looked really pretty. The red from the berry things popped out to me and I had to take a picture of them.
Some pictures from today. For the last few snowfalls I’ve been wanting to go sledding & since my brother and sister had no school and I didn’t want to stay cooped up in the house all day I asked them if they wanted to go out.
The hill kind of sucked because it wasn’t steep enough. But we went to the park that was close by. We had a snowball fight and swung on swings. The 3rd picture is of a traverser thing. I swung across it and let go to slide across the platform and almost broke my back. My legs went further than my body, so all my weight just went back. I laughed it off, and so did my siblings. Afterwards we picked up some Taco Bell which was very yummy. Then we came home and ate & I started working on an igloo. I didn’t finish because I was too cold and tired, but all I have to do is dig it out.
Today was good.
Venting about Work
So this lady came into the wireless center today and rude right off the bat. She tosses a screen protector on the counter and says “My husband told me that if I buy this you should put it on.” So I just responded with “OK.”
She asked me to apply it for her and I said sure, I’m sort of good at it. I told her she could pay for it separately and then go do more shopping if she wanted to and when she got back I’d have it all done.
So she gave me her phone that still had the screen protector that came with the phone on it. It had a ton of huge air bubbles and looked like she ate indian food off of it. So I cleaned it off with a wipe, got a squeegee, and prepared my arm for some steadiness. I applied the screen protector after about 5 minutes of figuring out the placement and what not. Then I cleaned it off and made it look nice. While doing that process I found that I let a tiny tiny speck of dust get in there. (When the screen’s on, you cant even tell. You could only see it when the screen’s off.) But how often do you stare at the screen when it’s off? I would have been satisfied with it.
So the lady comes back and says it looks great and I told her about the little speck and she flipped to Mrs. Hyde. She wanted her money back and said I shouldn’t be doing applying those if I don’t know what I’m doing. But I kept my cool. She asked for her old one back and I was confused because she was definitely worst off with that one. So I tried convincing her to keep it, but she wasn’t having it. She told me she would go to T-Mobile tomorrow and have a professional do it for her… Professional what?! Screen Protector Applier? Fucking idiot.
I told her “Ok, I understand the problem. I’ll let you return the product, but I think you should keep the one I did rather than take your old one back, and tomorrow when you go to T-Mobile you can have them take it off before they professionally (lol) put one on.”
So I brought her to the service desk and explained the situation and she got her money back. I went and did something in photo and then walked past the service desk after she had left. Well the girl who did the return said “She wasn’t happy with you, she called you an asshole.” So I got really upset and asked if she was serious and she said yeah. So I ran out the door to look for the customer… didn’t find her.
I didn’t want to yell at her. All I was gonna say was “That was very rude of you to say. I let you have a free screen protector (which could get me fired) & you have the nerve to insult me. You are not a nice person.”
I’m not really upset about it, I just wanted to share with the Tumblrverse a little something that happened at work today.
